Chepang Hills Trail – Chitwan 8 days

Trip Overview

Duration: 8 days
Maximum altitude: 1’946 m
Trek Grade: Easy
Average walking time per day: 3 - 5 hours
Accommodation: Homestay, Guesthouse
Best season: October - April

The Chepang, which means "walking with dog and arrow to hunt," were originally nomads who came from Tibet in the forested mountain regions of Nepal. The Chepangs, Nepal’s forgotten Native are famous for their knowledge of the healing effect of roots, fruits and herbs.

They speak their own language, living a nomadic life and their primary lifestyle is hunting, foraging for wild roots and fishing, as well as traditional framing near the jungles.

The famous Himalayan Mountains are far away from here, that’s why only a few foreign visitors have come to this remote region.

It is a gentle trek fit for all categories of trekkers and particularly suited to visitors wishing to avoid extreme high altitudes and like to have another insight of the diversity of Nepal.
