Langtang Panorama Trek 13 days

  • Langtang Valley

  • Woman spins yak wool

Trip Overview

Duration: 13 days
Maximum altitude: 3‘800 m
Trek Grade: Moderate to strenuous
Average walking time per day: 4 - 6 hours
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Best season: February, March, April, May, October, November

The Langtang region is the home to the Tamang. On this panorama trek you will hike through pretty villages, rhododendron, bamboo, oak, pine forests and following slow-flowing rivers, fast mountain streams, seeing rugged cliffs, snow-capped peaks, deep meadows strewn with daisies and wild primroses.

In spring, when the rhododendron flowers blossom the forest looks magical. We follow the Langtang River through a narrow canyon until we reach the large alpine grasslands of Kyangin Gompa where the glacier meets the meadow. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks (eg Langtang Ri, Langtang Lirung, Dorjee Lakpa) we can see grazing yaks.

The area is also known as the "Valley of the glacier." The mountain scenery is spectacular here. The mountains rise to heaven on each side of the valley.
