Lobuche has two main peaks; on a large distance they are connected by a smooth ridge and in between there is a deep and sharp edge. The Lobuche East Peak is an attractive summit and offers a variety of ascent routes. The South East Ridge is the most popular and graded as PD+ on the Alpine Grading system.

From the peak you have a fantastic view to Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Nuptse, Changtse in Tibet, Pumori, Gyachung Kang, Cho Oyu and Cholatse.

The climb of Lobuche Easts 6'119 m and the Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek can perfectly combined.

The Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC – Trek) is probably one of the most popular trek in the Everest region. The trek takes us through the Solokhumbu district and allows us a glimpse into the Sherpa, Tibetan and Bhotias culture. Explore the ancient monasteries and stupas with their spirituality. The scenic views of green valleys, terraces fields, meadows, glaciers, forests and deserts regions.

The EBC Trek is a wonderful and formative experience, it is the holy place for many mountaineers and climbers.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the Hotel

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the Hotel

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Enjoy the historical cultural sites of Kathmandu including UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temples), Boudhanath (Buddhist shrine) Swayembhunath (monkey temple), etc.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding 2‘610 m
The flight to Lukla takes about 30 minutes and offers a wonderful view of the mountains, forests and river valleys. After landing in Lukla, we begin our trek to Phakding. The path takes us through the beautiful landscapes.

Day 04: Phakding – Namche Bazar 3‘440 m
We walk along the Dudh Kosi river valley and through pine, spruce and rhododendron forests. In Monjo we enter the Sagarmartha National Park. The first look to the Mount Everest - the view of the huge mountains is impressive.

Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazar
Today we let our body time to adjust to the high altitude. This is very important, altitude sickness can be life-threatening. Stroll through Namche, which seems to be a huge bazaar and enjoy the mountain panorama and the Sherpa culture or visit the Sherpa museum.

Day 06: Namche Bazar – Tengboche 3‘860 m
After about 30 minutes uphill walk, we have a great view of the mountains and the Dudh Kosi valley. 2 hours later we reach Sanasa, it is the crossroads which leads either to Gokyo Khumjung valley or to Tengboche, there is also an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. Later we cross a suspension bridge that crosses the Dudh Kosi River. We continue uphill until we arrive in Tengboche. 

Day 07: Tengboche - Dingboche 4‘410 m
On the way to Dingboche we walk through beautiful and varied landscapes. The panoramic views, pastures and often deserted huts is an unforgettable experience.

Day 08: Acclimatization day in Dingboche
Our second rest day. Hike for example, to Dingboche Monastery or Chhukung village. Enjoy the spectacular panorama of Mount Everest, Amadablan, Lhotse, Tawache, Nuptse, Kwangde etc.

Day 09: Dingboche – Chhukung 4'730 m
We climb up to Dugla until the Khumbu glacier from where we have a stunning view of the Tawache and Cholatse.

Day 10: Chhukung – Kongma La Pass – Lobuche – c.a. 9 hours
A long day awaits us. We cross the 5'535 m high Kongma La pass. Another perspective on the world of mountains Khumbus opens. It is possible to take a shorter route through the valley.

Day 11: Lobuche – Everst Basis Lager 5‘300 m or Kala Patthar  - Lobuche 4'910 m

Day 12- 13: Lobuche Summit
The ascent of Lobuche peak is possible in a day. But from the high camp it is less long and the chances to reach the summit higher. First it goes over gravel through a little valley. A wide snow and ice face leads us to the foot of the steep south-east ridge. With the help of fixed ropes, we reach on a ridge (this is already called the summit or the false summit) from here it continues to the difficult and more narrow main summit. 

Day 14: Lobuche - Pheriche 4'240 m

Day 15: Pheriche – Tengboche  3'860 m
It goes back to Tengboche. The path is pleasant and offers beautiful views of the mountains and forests. After we reach Tengboche, we have plenty of time to explore the surrounding area and the village.

Day 16: Tengboche – Namche Bazar – 3‘440 m
We walk down from Tengboche to Namche Bazar and have wonderful views of the valley Monjo. We feel how the mountains slowly and steadily remove.  

Day 17: Namche – Phakding – Lukla – 7 hours 2‘840 m
Today's day is a bit more strenuous but again impressive and beautiful, picturesque mountains and landscapes pass by till we arrive in our destination Lukla. 

Day 18: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
While we enjoy the magnificent mountain panorama on the flight, some nostalgia comes on. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we have time for shopping or to reminisce our experiences of trekking in a cafe. Enjoy a small farewell dinner with us.
