Everest Sherpa Village Trek itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Our staff will pick you up from airport and transfer to your Hotel. 

    • Day 02 Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding 2610 m

      The short flight to Lukla is impressive. We fly parallel to the Himalayas. The trek starts with a descent on a wide trail through the Dudh Kosi valley. Afterwards we walk through beautiful pine- and rhododendron forests until we arrive in Phakding.

    • Day 03 Phakding to Namche Bazar 3440 m

      From Phakding we climb up the valley and meet among others Sherpa's with their "Zopkio‘s" half Yak half cow transporting equipment for expeditions to their camp. We follow the Dudh Kosi River upstream and can sneak a peek at Kusum Kangru 6'369 m and Thamserku 6‘608 m, finally we enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park.

      For the first time we get the opportunity to have a glimpse of Mount Everest 8'848 m, Lhotse 8'511 m, Nuptse 7‘879 m, Amadablam 6'856 m and Taweche 6‘542 m. We reach Namche Bazar. Stroll through Namche, which seems to be a huge bazar. Enjoy the Mountain view and the Sherpa culture or visit the Sherpa museum.

    • Day 04 Namche to Thamo 3493 m

      The path is pleasant; we hike through forests and small villages. We can still see traces of the historical and traditional trade route, countless trade caravans as well as Tibetan refugees made their way here. We have time to explore Thamo and visiting the Monastery.

    • Day 5-6 Thamo to Thame 3820 m

      The road rises slowly and is easy to walk. The landscape is changing, we reach the tree line, the vegetation becomes sparse, and rocks dominate the landscape. We hear the sound of a river and come to a suspension bridge that leads above an impressive gorge. We arrive at the home of the Sherpa’s who since years accompany the adventurers to climb Mount Everest.

      On rest day explore the village.

    • Day 07 Thame to Khunde 3840 m

      We leave Thame. It goes uphill and downhill. We walk through forests, which in spring has pink, purple and red rhododendron blossoms, even primroses bloom along the way. On the way we are able to see a few Musk Deer and Mountain Goats. After 6 hours we reach a slope. The road is narrow; it seems as if bruised in the mountain wall. Finally, we work our way slowly to the end of the path before the passage to the next mountain comes, it is marked by a rushing waterfall. Snow and ice nestle tightly to the steep slopes.

      And suddenly we are on the top! Down the valley a barren, open countryside. A waterfall splashes icy to himself. In the distance we are able to see our Lodge.

    • Day 08 Khunde to Phakding 2610 m

      The day starts with a visit to the Hillary Hospital and the Hillary School before we make our way to Khumjung Monastery where we are able to gaze the Yeti head. On the way back to Phakding we walk via Sanasa.

    • Day 09 Phakding to Lukla 2840 m

      Walking through the beautiful village and jungle, takes about 2 hours to reach Lukla, It is same way as we start our trek for the first day.

    • Day 10 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

      The flight goes early in the morning, it takes about 30 minutes of flight time.

    • Day 11 Departure

      Today is time to say good bye, hope to see you again. Have a safe journey. Our staff will pic you from your hotel and drop off to the airport.
