Everest Three Pass Trek itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Our stall will come to pick up in the airport and drop down to the hotel.

    • Day 2 Flight from Kathmandu to lukla To Phakding

      The flight to Lukla takes about 30 minutes and offers a wonderful view of the mountains, forests and river valleys. After landing in Lukla, we begin our trek to Phakding. The path takes you through the beautiful landscapes.

      • Day 3-4 Phakding to Namche bazar

        We walk along the Dudh Kosi river valley and through pine, spruce and rhododendron forests. In Monjo we enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The first look to the Mount Everest - the view of the huge mountains is impressive.Today we let our body time to adjust to the high altitude. This is very important; altitude sickness can be life-threatening. Stroll through Namche, which seems to be a huge bazaar and enjoy the mountain panorama and the Sherpa culture or visit the Sherpa museum.

        • Day 5 Namche Bazar – Tengboche

          After about 30 minutes uphill walk, we have a great view of the mountains and the Dudh Kosi valley. 2 hours later we reach Sanasa, it is the crossroads which leads either to Gokyo Khumjung valley or to Tengboche, there is also excellent view of the surrounding mountains. Later we cross a suspension bridge that crosses the Dudh Kosi River. We continue uphill until we arrive in Tengboche. 

          • Day 6-7 Tengboche - Dingboche

            On the way to Dingboche we walk through beautiful and varied landscapes. The panoramic views, pastures and often deserted huts are an unforgettable experience.This is our second rest day. Hike for example, to Dingboche Monastery or Chhukung village. Enjoy the spectacular panorama of Mount Everest, Amadablan, Lhotse, Tawache, Nuptse, Kwangde etc.

            • Day 8 Dingboche – Chhokung

              On the short walk up we have a stunning view of the Amadablam and Island Peak. In the afternoon we have the option to visit the Island Peak Base Camp.

              • Day 9 Chhokung – Kongma La Pass – Lobuche – c.a

                A long day awaits us. We cross the first of the 3 passes. From Kongma La 5'535 m we have a different and not less impressive view to the Mountains. It is possible to take a shorter route through the valley.

                • Day 10 Lobuche – Everest Base Camp - Lobuche

                  After we left Lobuche we follow the trail wich winds its way along the Khumbu glacier. To cross the Lobuche glacier it takes about 1 ½ hours. Over boulders and scree we reach Gorakshep. Then, accompanied by the beautiful mountain panorama we climb on to Everest Base Camp, the place where expeditions to the highest mountain in the world to start. An unforgettable experience.

                  Because of the high altitude we stay in Lobuche and not in Gorakshep.

                  • Day 11 Lobuche – Kala Patthar - Zongla

                    Early in the morning our ascent to Kala Patthar 5'555 m starts. The scenery is fantastic. It is a hard way, but the view from above, exceed the wildest expectations. In the midst of the great creaking glaciers - the classical view of Mt. Everest. Afterwards we walk to Zongla.

                    • Day 12 Zongla – Chola Pass – Dragnak

                      From the camp, it goes on a narrow path of rocks, then on the left side the glacier comes into view. We now finally march on the snow field and we arrive soon on the pass at 5'420 m. A magnificent view of Ama Dablam and Baruntse 7‘220 m awaits us. Since it may have a few glacier crevasses, we avoid exploring. From the pass there is a steep downhill to the valley of Nymagawa. After our lunch we again passing boulders and soon we reach the Teahouses and huts of Dragnak.

                      • Day 13-14 Dragnak – Gokyo Lake

                        After around 2 ½ hours walk we arrive in Gokyo Lake. We have enought time to walk to the 5th lake and back. It offers us a fantastic view to Mount Everest. and Next day after breakfast we climb to the top of Gokyo Ri 5'483 m - a small hill above the lake, the view of the Gokyo region is enormous. It is a 2 hour climb and offers a view of the Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawache.

                        • Day 15 Gokyo – Renjola Pass - Lungden

                          Today a long day awaits us. We continue in a northerly direction up to the Renjola pass 5'420 m. It is worth to have a glance behind us. Once on the pass we have magnificent view of the valley Nangpa, Everest and Makalu. Because of the debris, the way down is a little harder. After a while we reach the lake glacier. The valley widens and we descend on open grassland. Soon we reach the small village of Arya and Lungden.

                          • Day 16 Lungden – Thame

                            On our way further down, we follow the Bhote Kosi River. We walk through the valley and pass small villages like Nangpa, Marlung, later Taranga and finally Thame.

                            • Day 17 Thame – Phakding

                              We cross the Bhote Khola via a suspension bridge and passing painted Buddhist rock. In this region it is possible to see Himalayan Tahrs. We continue through Thamo and back to Namche Bazar where we have a lunch before continuing down the Dudh Koshi River. We leave Jorsale and Monjo behind us and walk through pine and rhododendron forests and reach Phakding.

                              • Day 18 Phakding– Lukla 2‘840 m

                                Our last stage of walk awaits us.

                                • Day 16 Fly from Lukla To Kathmandu

                                  Early in the morning we go to the small airport in Lukla. We have enough time to enjoy the rest of the day in Kathmandu.

                                  • Day 17 Departure

                                    Our staff will pick you from hotel and drop down to the airport.
