Ghorepani Poonhill Trek itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Our Staff wiil come to pick you up at the airport and take you to the Hotel.

    • Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820 m

      We drive on the Prithivi Highway which is main Highway to let the Kathmandu valley behind us. It takes us about 7 hours by Tourist bus and 6 hours by private jeep.

    • Day 3 Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri 1960 m

      It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive from Pokhara to Nayapul by private car or jeep. The hike starts fro Nayapul and after 15 minutes along on the bank of the Modi Khola River, the way brings us to Birethanti 1'025 m, a large village with shops and tea houses. From there, the trail continues through the village and follows the northern shore of Bhurungdi Khola. Then we climb steadily uphill to Hille 1‘475 m here comes now the challenging part of the day, the ascent to Ulleri.

    • Day 4 Ulleri to Ghorepani 2880 m

      After a rich breakfast we leave Ulleri and begin our climb to Ghorepani. The trail leads through oak and rhododendron forests to Banthanti 2‘250 m. From there we walk towards Nangethanti on 2'460 m. After another hour we reach Ghorepani 2'874 m. Option: those who want to enjoy the sunset on the Poon Hill 3'210 m

    • Day 5 Ghorepani to Poonhill 3210m and Tadapani 2630 m

      Still in the dark, and those who did not oversleep, make the one-hour climb to Poon Hill 3'210 m. A great spectacle. This vantage point offers a wonderful view of the sunrise over the Himalayas. We spend about 40 minutes and enjoy the wonderful experience before we get back down to Ghorepani and relish our well-deserved breakfast. Afterwards the path leads us over hills and through pine- and rhododendron forests before arriving in Banthanti. From here we take the turnoff to Tadapani 2’630 m.

    • Day 6 Tadapani to Ghandruk 1940 m

      The trail is now always slightly downhill through a subtropical forest of bamboo and giant rhododendron. Ghandruk is the capital of the region Gurung and his men are known as Gurkhas soldiers. Ghandruk is a  Historical and  popular cultural village of Gurung community in Nepal.

    • Day 7 Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara 820 m

      We continue to descend more down until we get to Nayapul and from where we catch a vehicle to Pokhara.

    • Day 8 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

      If the trekkers have time it is really worth to spend few days in Pokhara to explore the lake, Paragliding, Bunjee Jumping, cycling and many more activities,

      • Day 9 Departures

        Our Staff will come to pick you up at the Hotel and take you to the airport.
